Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS)

The University was granted a charter by the Government of Pakistan in March 1985. The University has expanded rapidly ever since and currently has three schools: the Suleman Dawood School of Business, The School of Humanities and Social Sciences and the School of Science and Engineering.

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program at at LUMS provides an intense and demanding experience, involving two years of full-time study. The program aims at developing global business leaders -- individuals who can provide leadership at any level, in an increasingly global economy. As a general management program the curriculum introduces students to the underlying disciplines of management, and provides graduates the flexibility to pursue successful careers in a variety of industries, and across geographical and functional boundaries.

Admission Criteria

Admission to the Programme is based entirely on merit. The basic policy of the Admissions Committee of the Suleman Dawood School of Business is to select those men and women whose intellectual capacity, managerial potential and personal characteristics best qualify them to pursue careers in management.

To be considered for a MBA place at LUMS, applicants will be assessed on the following criteria:


  • A minimum of sixteen years of education resulting in a Masters or Bachelors degree from an HEC recognized University. *
  • Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)
    OR
    LUMS Management Admission Test (LMAT)
  • Work experience (preferred but not compulsory)
  • Interview performance
  • Letters of recommendation

*Candidates holding only a bachelors degree of less than four years duration will be required to produce an HEC equivalence certificate of completion of 16 years of education.

There are no age restrictions

The Admissions Office will first review the applications to ensure that candidates meet the above requirements. After the review, Admissions Committee will short list the candidates for interviews. The final decision will be taken after the interview.



II. Entrance Test

Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)

Graduate Management Admission Test is offered as a computer adaptive test worldwide. Apart from official test scores that LUMS will require directly from Educational Testing Service (ETS), USA. Applicants must submit or mail a copy of the unofficial GMAT score as soon as they take the test.

The LUMS code for receiving GMAT scores from ETS is 0679.
